I can be compared to a foot soldier with little training, out in the guerilla battlefield, choosing his own way, and failing day in and day out. My brief successes in life are most remarkable.
I am out in the sea, and it is cold and wet. There is a life ring in front of me. However, for one reason or another, I keep thinking that the water will be stable enough; that it will warm me, give me rest for my poor muscles... And so I tread the water. What I do know is that when I grab on to that life ring, I can lie there in a weary state, and not have to do one bit of work to keep myself alive.
But as long as I stay out in the water, I am drowning.
Will I grab hold of the life ring?
